What's Flaine like as a ski resort?

Flaine is situated in the Grand Massif which is one of the largest linked ski areas in France. It is an incredibly snow-sure resort with one of the best snow records. It has a long opening season right through to late April. Due to a large amount of north facing slopes it holds snow well through the season and is a great choice for a late break. It is less than 90 minutes drive from Geneva airport. For fantastic skiing a great balance - you can find some really great runs for all levels of skiing. Lots of Greens and blues reds and a few terrific blacks - its great for beginners , intermediates and experts ! Over 265 kms of pistes . Flaine is a great all round resort, excellent skiing for all abilities, great ski school, plenty of family activities and facilities for children plus great apres-ski on offer.

And where is the apartment situated? What's around?

Doris is situated in the popular Flaine Foret area within easy walk of the Grand Vans lift which is the main lift to the top of the Flaine side. The ski bus stops right outside and runs every few minutes for those who prefer not to walk. There is a chairlift right behind the apartment and you can ski down the aguile marine piste to ski back to the rear of the building.

Flaine Foret has a good selection of restaurants and bars. There is a supermarket and boulangerie opposite the apartment, along with a pub and bowling alley. There are two ski hire shops just by Doris. The 24 hour pedestrian lift that drops you down to the level of Flaine Forum is just across the road. There are more bars and restaurants situated at the lower level in the Forum
